Question Burnt Wire Harness 88T2

Hello all,

I had a fire on my 88 T2 and the (2) wire harness have been destroyed. The passenger-side donor harness I have, also has fire damage around the injector connectors. Wires in this area have been cooked and are a bit brittle. I am running this car with no emissions or oil injection systems. My question is can I repair this partially cooked harness, can I build my own, or should I just find one in better shape?

Thx, Paul Rajchel

I think the easy way is to just find a used one.

I'd replace the bad wires. Shorts and corrosion will cause all sorts of problems. Buy some marine quality wires and fix them. Make sure you solder them if you know how.
Finding a good condition wiring harness will be hard. Most will be hacked up and you'd have to inspect the wires if there are any bare wires exposed. Marine quality wires are corrosion resistant and have thicker insulation.
