Yeah, got my car back from the shop today, it burns coolant and oil and he says maybe a month to go. Is this rebuilt time? What kind of costs would be involved to get a T2 engine in there, no drivetrain stuff, just engine and computer and stuff.

Triangleman,

I just bought a rebuilt engine (streetported) from atikins rotary a few months ago... $2800 with core charge... $2200 when i get the core charge back. It's pretty sweet too. They have engine harness for pretty cheap as well; along the lines of $150. I have no idea how much the ECU would run ya. There is also a guy on the forum i was talking to a ways back about rebuilding a porting my engine.... it would have been around $1200 i believe. If you want his name and info i can get it for ya. Anyways.. good luck!!

Aaron

I have an 86-8 streetported engine with 0 miles in my basemsnt for sale for $1300. New 2pc hurley seals and all new mazda parts, except rotors and housings. Installation available. This requires your engine for a core.

Other than that, Ive done a t2 engine swap before. You need the engine, wirng harness, ecu, knock control box(attatches to harness), boost sensor, TID, and throttle cable. The NA drivetain bolts right to the engine, just make sure your t2 engine matches your flywheel year range(86-8, 89-91).

Strongly recommend the NA LSD rearend, plus the strongest NA racing clutch to hold the turbo's power. On my conversion, in 4th gear at 125mph, the clutch would break loose and slip infinitely(did so in every gear).

hey There's some in in south florida on this forum
silverRx-7 <-------------------------
that was selling J-spec TII motor's with tranny 89-91 for $ 900
do a search under his name and youll find the thread

wiring harness since the j-spec are cut $50
computer $50
acc cable $40 new

You can just overhaul the coolent seals and oil seals

gasket kit $110
oil seals about the same or less
then labor to open, clean and reassemble the motor
$400?
