running a water injection system with a 50/50 mix of alcohol/water. Which is an idea I've been considering. I know that you can run alcohol as a race fuel, and that some people have added alcohol in their gas to help pass emmissions tests.
So i'm guessing no one has actually tried this, seeing as not too many of us are actually running water injection on our TII's, but it's probably worth a try for anyone that does have one. What do you guys think?

Isaid to spray it onto your IC not into. water injection is a funny thing. I wouldn't recomend to anyone to make there own system. if it is set up wrong it can hurt performace at the least and pop your motor at the worst.
water injection will reduce intake temps, but that is not why they were built. that is a side effect. they were designed to prevent detonation at high boost / high compression. Only use one that is designed for you. they are a system not some thing anyone can slap together on a whim.
I also said to use rubbing alcohol and water. this is not the same as the top fuel alcohol. first of all it doesn't burn that well with out a wick unless atomized to hell.
No I have done a 75% water and 25% rubbing alcohol in a real water injectin sysem n my old Celica. but I was using 10:1 pistons and paxton supercharger form a 5.0 Mustang set up to make 10 to 13 # of boost. I also had an IC I did spray a 50/50 mix water and alcohol on to withan electric fan and a tray under it to redirect the waste water and alcohol under the car via tube. this way no left ofer alcohol would catch fire mixing with oil and heat on my motor.
Edelbrok makes an ausom water injectin system I would suggest. but y0ou don't need it untill you are making so much boost and advanced timing that you would pop other wise. before you get that though I would suggest a knock sensor that can retard your timing at any leve of knock. there aere some very good ones out there I will let you choose
