Bump steer?

when driving on the highway or whatever I noticed that the steering wheel "moves" to keep the car straight if the road is bouncy.. not on like bumps or whatever but if the suspension needs to travel alot because of a dip or big bump in the road.. what can cause this?
It seems to be MUCH worse at speed (like 90+MPH vs 50MPH).. but still bearable.

The car also doesn't want to go straight if doing hard breaking... I think it's from the same problem.

The lip on my front fenders seems to get eaten by the tires now and then, because they're always a little pulled out. I don't think that this is unique to my car though, as every other TII I've seen has had this damage.

im not clear on what your trying to say... but the definition of bump steer is this... the amount of toe change the wheels encounter through out the travel of the suspension due to suspension geometry.

Basically, if your not talking about suspension geometry and engineering things… your not talking about bump steer.

It sounds like your car is darting about on bumps and dips in the road. you could be out of alignment or have play in your ball joints. They can test this for free at local big chain shops like NTB…
