Building a straight pipe in place of the cat.
Building a straight pipe in place of the cat.
My cats are clogged. They are so f'ed up that the manifold and cat glows red at idle. I've decided to make a pipe with a resonator in place of it coming off the manifold. My question is, does the location of the resonator affect powerband characteristic? Does if matter if I put it closer or farther from the engine?
Thanks
Thanks

Actually, it is "Hate leads to suffering" but oh well.
About the exhaust, I would assume putting the resonator closer to the engine would be more beneficial for power's sake. But I assume it is a very negligible amount of difference in power, where ever you put it.

the resonator is going to be the biggest slow down in exhaust flow so I'd think move it further from the downpipe if possible but again it's probably very negligable. Check out the bonex setup or RB or something and copy that I guess.
