budget 13b re question

I was thinking about a budget 13b re setup. Would a hybrid turbo like a BNR stage 3 and s5 turbo manifold fit on a 13b re engine? I know it would bolt up, but I was curious if there are clearance issues with the 13b re intake manifold. My 13bt has very little room with the bigger intake side for mines.

I believe there are 13B-RE's running BNR turbos already

You can do it. And you can also run the car on an S5 TII ecu. But if you're going to run a hybrid, you're going to need something to tune it with as well, and I dont think an AFC will cut it. There really is no "budge" 13b-re build. You're going to need a standalone in most cases. Or something like a greddy emanage or an Rtek 2.0. Piggybacks only take you so far though.

This is my plan. I already have a 13bt right now with stand alone, fmic turbo back exhaust, and a hybrid turbo on the s5 turbo.

I was planning in the future to just get a 13b re put together, plug in my stand alone, do the minor plumbing for the fmic to work, and just bolt up my hybrid s5 turbo to it. Of course tuning will need to be done, and other stuff needed.

A turbo kit costs a ton of money, and if the s5 manifold and say a bnr stage 3 turbo would bolt up without hitting the intake manifold, my plans don't sound too far away

^ do you plan on rebuilding the RE>??

i would just say stick it out with your t2, till you save up, and get a turbo kit..

also save up for a rebuild on a RE. because stock RE exhaust sleeves are HORRIBLE...

if you have any questions.. pm

i built one like that years ago. stock RE engine, t2 wiring harness/ecu, hybrid s5 turbo (it was done before BNR was around), RB 3" dp/presilencer into a borla, NPR IC

i think we had an FD fuel pump in it, and an Fcon.

it was FUN, power curve of the RE motor and the turbo matched well. i think it did 225rwhp@5psi@8500rpms. it had boost control problems at the dyno, later it got the old school RB boost controller
