Broken wire what is it for??

well, i was putting back my starter and accidently broke a wire connected to a little black box that was bolted on to my chassis. The wire itself was black and went into the transmission electric harness. Just wondering.

Sound like the resistor that goes to the oil sender unit.

You mean capacitor.
