Broken door handle

So I have gone about to fix my door handle and took it apart. I found where the problem is and a metal piece that has somehow broken, is breaking the link between opening the door. The piece is shaped like a hammer and goes down when the door handle is pulled up. The hammer shaped metal piece has a crack through it and only half the piece moves with the door handle and the other half is disconnected. I was thinking about going to get a new door handle or one from a junkyard but I was just thinking. Is there any way to make this piece solid enough again to work? I tried super glue and it bonded it, but it couldn't withstand the force to push the next lever and broke off. Any chemicals I could use to bond it? Perhaps some sort of cement? Or would welding it work?

You can weld it, but it would be cheaper and quicker to just go to a junkyard and source a working door handle. I've done this 3 times.

its common that the door handles break on the FC. it would be eaiser to go to the boneyard as stated above or just order a new one from www.mazdatrix.com. you just need to know your paint code.
