Broken Bolt
Well my life just got tougher! I did the front brakes on my 86 GXL no problem, when I started to remove the REAR drivers side caliper I broke the top bolt off flush. (first bolt I touched on the rear don`t ya know) Any suggestions on getting this freeking bolt out. Its gotta get done real soon as I`m going into withdrawal cause I can`t drive my 7 and we finally have sunshine here in Detroit.

a good impact wrench is a good investment. no more broken bolts.
ok, you need to center punch, center drill, drill the bolt out of there.
doing all this on a bench would make it easier.
or you could just shine it, the rears dont wear all that much. The fronts take most of the wear.

Yeah i agree with gear grabber... Center punch the bolt... Drill it out and buy and e-z out kit.. Heat up the bolt to expand the surrounding metal pound in the e-z out and twist out the bolt!

I just did my brakes over the weekend and snapped two bolts. But my parts car with the southern drawl was willing to give up the spares I needed.
Don't you just love these crappy Michigan roads and 5million pounds of road salt we get to deal with every year?
