broght n/a s5 motor, stuck apex seal help
so the other day i picked up an s5 motor that came off a running car. dont know how long its been sitting, but we had a hard time making it spin freely, but we lubed it with some gear oil, and now it spins freely.
So, we did a compression test with a starter, front rotor was fine, but the rear had a stuck apex seal, as the compression tester shows a skip, instead of three even pulses. motor is a mazda reman with around 80k, so what can i do to get that apex seal unstuck, i dont wanna put the motor in and having it still not working

One skip? An apex seal would result in two skips, wouldn't it?
Take the intake off and spin it around and see if you can see the stuck seal.
marvel mystery oil is what you're thinking of....not miracle something...lol

yea, i just broght a bottle of marvel mystery oil, its being soaked evenly, leaving it for a day, hopefully it'll help. yea its weird, apex seals look fine from the exhaust ports.
with the compression guage, it shows one skip, and with the button pressed, it shows two pulses and a skip, then two pulses again, while the front housing shows 3 even pulses.
