bringing back a dormant (1yr) fc...

Hey guys,

I haven't driven my FC in... probably just about a year. The battery is dead, and it's being charged now...

i'm wondering if there's anything i should do before i try to fire it up. Should i be worried about the seals being stuck after that long? I was going to add a bit of oil and coolant just in case they ran down over time, but not sure whta else to look out for.

thoughts, ideas, comments?

Put new gas in the tank first if you can. Gas can get really nasty if it sits for a while and will clog stuff (fuel filter, pump, injectors etc.) up.

Anybody got any other hints to add?

Put in a bottle of fuel treatment (the kind that will remove water from fuel) and maybe another 2-3 gallons of fresh gas.

Mine sat for a good year and a half before i started driving it as a DD. it had about 1/8 a tank and kept trying to flood and ran like dog crap until i put some treatment in and filled up the tank with fresh gas.

You might also want to go over everything under the hood and make sure no hoses have dry rotted and started leaking.

Bleeding the brakes and clutch might not be a bad idea either, but i'd check and make sure it runs first.

i know what you can do...

rip off the center vents, the a/c compressor and lines, the power window motors and send them to me.
you can go register it after that

haha, wow, i haven't been on here in a while, forgot all the 2nd gen wannabe freeloaders out there

i've got an s5 n/a with a lot of goodies. i was debating selling it a while back, mod list looks something like this:

- mazdatrix rebuilt/streetported motor w/ ~50k on it
- recently transplanted tranny w/ ~80k on it
- racing beat header/presilencer/catback
- centerforce dual friction clutch
- lightweight flywheel
- apexi intake
- jacobs ignition amp
- mazdatrix short shift kit
- mazdatrix triangulated strut tower brace/torque brace
- kyb adjustable shocks
- racing beat springs
- suspension techniques sway bars (front & rear)
- 2 reclining recaros
- mazdaspeed shifter

that's all i can think of at the moment... i think there's more... but it's been a while since i've played w/ her
