break in procedures for fresh motor
ok, in a week or so Im having a remanufactured motor dropped in my 87 TII, it is a stock motor upgraded with 3mm apex seals, my question is: is there any quircks or special procedures for breaking in a fresh rotary? BTW at the same time Im also putting in a Apex exhaust, a Apex BOV, a HKS intake, porting my wastegate to 22mm, installing a FCD, and installing a Warlbro 255, a ACT 6 puck clutch and also having my injectors professionally cleaned, new plugs, wires, etc...so tell me what to expect and stuff please.

With mine, first 500 miles, didn't baby it, but at the same time, no full throttle applications. Change oil/filter, then do you thing. Keep an eye on the boost gauge as you don't want to be going too high without some type of electronic air/fuel upgrade. The clutch should make for some pretty exciting engagments during normal street driving.

Yes, especially with the 3mm seals. You need to let them wear and seat correctly. Just go easy on it as I'm sure you don't want to change it out again any time soon. For boost control, I recommend the Greddy Profec B as it works great, it's cheaper, and easier to control than the Apexi unit. Good luck!

ok, with these mods Im planning, is it ABSOLUTELY essential that I port the wastegate on the stock turbo? my plan is for 220 +/- 15 HP and after that its gonna be all about the suspension.
