brand new engine

I recently bought my 1987 rex and it has a new engine in it,the engine was purchased through a Mazda dealership and also installed there. My question here is about the engine specs, are these rebuilt engines?and if so is there anything better about them, such as porting or anything of that nature compared to the stocker?

The reman from MAZDA is BONE STOCK, Any ported plates that are in the core engines are discarded/.

indeed, the engine will be bone stock, but it will also be just as strong as a new engine, while many 3rd party rebuilds will never be quite as strong because they reuse parts in less than perfect condition. at least this is what ive been told

I have one...

For what it's worth, I have a MNAO rebuild in my car, just over 1000 miles and it is very strong.

I have read many reports of how a newly rebuilt rotary is weak until it builds compression, this does not seem to be the case with my engine.

Even while keeping the revs under 3500rpm so far this engine pulls way better then the engine it replaced and it only had 45,000 miles on it.

Only time will tell but so far I am very happy with it.
