Brakes locking and PS fluid spraying.

I own and 88 rx-7 convertible and just recently i've been having a problem with my power steering fluid spraying in the right side of my engine bay, i'm not really sure exactly where it is coming from but I think I have an idea where. Today while driving on the expressway my brakes started locking up on me so I pulled off to the side of the road. I started my car and realized that I could'nt even press in the break pedal at all there was so much pressure. After I let them cool down for a little while I continued to drive home so I would'nt get stuck on the expressway, but was only able to make it another mile before it started doing it again. What could possibly be causing this kind of pressure build up in my break system that would make them lock like that? Could it be the same reason my power steering fluid is spraying?

Most likely u have a seized caliper, causes heat and the fluid to almost boil. Thats what is causing the excess pressure. U'll need to replace the seal for the master cylinder and which ever calipers are seizing. I recommend fixing it as soon as possible. It can destroy rotors very quickly.

most likely your ps problem is a cracked hose or an untightened conection. im not so sure on the seized caliper. if it was seized then the car would shake horribly wouldn't it?

If it was a cracked hose he wouldnt be able to stop, he wouldnt have pressure for the system to work. When mine froze I drove it for like 3 days before I knew it was the caliper. The car didnt shake but it did seem sluggish in lower rpms cause the caliper would grip better at slower speeds. Also one thing that tells u its the caliper is the fact the brakes are heating up while driving. Only friction could cause that. Hence the caliper.

One reason that I think its more than just a single seized caliper is because after I let it cool down it drives fine, then from driving it for only a few minutes the pressure builds up too much and the brakes overpower my engine and completely slow my car down almost to the point where it's undrivable. Also after doing that I notice a new spray of PS fluid in my engine bay.

When mine was doing it, it was only one caliper. It couldnt stop the car. I'd say atleast check the calipers, it could me more than just one. Other than that I dont see what could cause the brakes to hold and heat up like that.

Ok, today I checked all my tires and found that the front right tire is extremely hard to turn. I took it apart and sqeezed the pistons and they didnt seem to be stuck at all....they moved just like they should. It seems that that caliper is the only one thats not realeasing the pressure.
