Well, I am replacing my rear rotor's cause their below spec. I ordered some new ones from Checker.I had the option of standard rotors or "Vented".

From what they told me "Vented" meant drilled rotors.
The ones they then tried to give me were non-drilled vented rotors,like the front rotors on my 88 GTU.

Well, I have heard that the rear rotors on our cars are solid. They are solid on my 88 SE,but my 88 GTU has vented rotors in the rear.

I was wondering if the previous owner of my GTU had replaced them or if the GTU came stock with them.

I need to get this resolved because if mine came stock with vented rears then they are trying to rip me off.

The regular rotors were $62 and the "Vented" were $80.

So what did my 88 GTU come with stock?


Also, I remember them giving me the option for "vented" Rotors when I bought new fronts.I opted for the stocks and they were vented(vents inbetween the discs).It seems like their idea of vented is different between stores.

 

Come on. Someones gotta know.

 

if u have the 4 piston calipers up front then you have rear vented calipers, if u have the 1 pistons up front then u dont

 

It's a GTU so it has the same brakes as a TII.
