Brake Problems.

Well what i thought would be a simple break job turned it to much more... over the past 2 weeks, it seems like it has been one thing after another, started out with a simple break job. got the passenger side caliper off, one of the pistons was stuck, so slapped it all back together with the stuck piston, until i could get new calipers.

A week later two brand new calipers, started working on the passenger side. everything went without a hitch. Now onto the driver side went to try and pull the old caliper off and the bolt snapped off in the caliper. at this point it was getting late, needed to take someone home. slapped it all back together to get a friend home (brilliant right?) anyway, got him home no major events with that, the next day we scoured a couple junk yards and found the wheel spindle/hub whatever, pulled it off brought it home. the old rotor is seized up onto the old hub, so we can't get that off decided screw it lets just get the hub off, and put this new one on, and buy a new rotor. well the hub is seized up onto the ball joint. Seems like this whole driver side is screwed.

in the process of the trying to get this hub off the ball joint, we have pretty much destroyed the gasket on the ball joint, and i'm wondering how much of a difference there is with the 86-88 control arms then there is with the 91s? if i just get a control arm with the ball joint on it from an older model will i have a lot of problems getting it to work? Or could there be other issues i would run into? I have already done a little looking around. and i'm definately not buying one new. so next comes junk yard or ebay. I have a feeling i'm going to be going back up to the junk yard to get the one that was there. Any Suggestions on which way to go from here.

The S4 LCA (with replacable ball joint) will interchange with the S5 (integrated ball joint) LCA.
