brake problems

i have been having a very bad mushy feeling in my brakes. i recently swapped to the bigger 929 master brake cylinder and put on some hawk pads. gradually the petal seemed to go farther down and get increasingmy mushy. i replaced the plungers in the master cylinder. it is even worse now... i can put the petal all the way to the floor and it feels like normal braking. you acn pump the brakes to raise the petal, but it is temporary... it goes down a few seconds later. it is not leaking fluid. my rear pads aren't very good. also, the petal goes down when the car is off, so i don't think its the booster. the lines seem okay too.

my dad said something about boring the cylinder. does anyone know about this? please help!

THANKS!!!

you might have air in the system. Also, check for leaks, especially around the ABS unit (if so equipped). Also, did you get the right 929 master? There is a different between ABS and non-ABS masters.

there is NO air in the brakes... trust me. and i really don't know if my master brake cylinder is an ABS onbe or not. i just swiped it out of a car at the junk yard. it was out of an 88 929. i called mazda comp and ordered the rebuild kit from them. they usually ask if it is ABS or not, but they didn't for this. maybe the 88 doesn't have ABS.
