BOV on inlet or outlet pipe?

mazda puts the BOV on the inlet pipe to the intercooler,
yet in magazines, most of the modded cars i see have the BOV on the outlet pipe from the IC.

what benefits are there in mounting it on the outlet pipe as opposed to the stock inlet pipe?

it seems to me that the closer to the turbo the BOV is, the better it can vent all air rushing back toward it,

i am getting a FMIC installed at the moment, and hafta let the mechanic which side i want the BOV on. he favours just putting it where mazda intended.

any advice appreciated,

it's better on the throttle body side.

I have my Apex BOV welded onto my intercooler, right above my oil filter. I use to have it on the pipe between the turbo to the intercooler, but I noticed more air rushing out, when I have it on the intercooler. Closer to the throttle body, better esults you'll find
