Bought a spare motor today! (Not sure why.....)
I guess I just couldn't pass it up! You might recall I originally went to get the differential and some interior parts from this 90 Vert., but I noticed that he had the engine and tranny sitting there on a pallet, with what looked like brand new rotor housings!
When I asked him about it, he said that just before his nephew wrecked the car he had spent a lot of money at a local rotary specialist (Atkins, probably) rebuilding the motor. He even had the old rotor housings sitting there. He told me he'd sell the motor and tranny for $500. I told him I didn't need it since mine runs great, but after I left I started thinking...........
You can probably guess what happened next.
So is that a pretty good buy?
And will it work in my car if I decide to ever put it in, since it is an S5 motor?

If you can verify that they are new housings and a new rebuild I would say go for it. I believe atkins puts a stamp on each housing that has some sort of build number or something on it. 500 would be a steal because each new housings cost more than that new.
