Bought some injectors for my 88, got wrong ones need help Identifying for sale?

Yeah just like it says, I bought a set of 550cc venom injectors on ebay and they LOOK right, until they tried to install them. I have an 88 N/A, was going to put them in my secondaries but the nozzle-end o-ring is too small to fit and the connector is gray with the tab on top in the middle...
Like this..

Anyone who can Identify these has first dibs.. I imagine they are for a turbo possibly of that year...they are BRAND NEW THOUGH GUYS! Never touched gasoline! THANKS!! LOVE THIS FORUM!!

injector id is in the FAQ at the top of the page. i recommend looking there before asking any more questions.

I looked at that, I'm fairly certain it said it was an 88 turbo but I don't trust myself to sell it as that without a second opinion, I may be missing something...instead of telling me to do something I already have done how about give me a little credit and a second opinion? Thanks!

wrong. venom uses stock injectors and bores them out to whatever size you want.

whats the part number on them? link to auction? if they have been altered (as they obviously have been if they are "new"), then the only real way to find out what they are is to send them in to be tested. they could be 1600cc for all you know.

edit: you could probably just file down the notch if you are sure they are the correct impedance and flow

What is the part number on the injector? It's the most reliable way to tell but the flow could still have been altered.

Now, keep in mind I didn't get the 720s, I asked later to have the 550s and he sold them to me AT THE SAME PRICE (bastard) as the 720s, then when they wouldn't fit I tried to get a refund and first he told me there was a 20% restocking fee and I called BullShit and he decided to waive the restocking fee but still charge me for shipping, no refund on shipping....

it had a flow chart somewhere too, but I cannot locate it. I can give you the part number but I don't have internet at the place the injectors are, so I keep forgetting to grab them or write them down..

if you have the flow chart and they are correct then verify the resistance with a multimeter, file the notch off and put them in

most sellers dont refund shipping costs. it costs them the same price to make whatever size you want so don't be salty about that.

The grommet at the base of the injector is too small also..

I'd rather sell them or trade them for something interesting that I can use more..BTW, got that oil cooler 87 t-66, haven't gotten a chance to examine it very well cause it leaked oil all over the box...but I got it. Will let you know something soon.

oops, sorry about that. i wrapped it in plastic and tried to get all the oil out of it. the grommets are the same for all the fc injectors, you might just need to buy them from the dealer or mazdatrix.

It is very simple. Your 88 model has high impedence injectors. Notice the offset notch on your harness that does not match the centered notch on your new injector. Offset = hi impedence. Center = lo impedence. They are not interchangeable (sort of). 86 to 87.5 has low impedence. 87.5 to 88 has high impedence. Part number stamped on the injector will be the same for both though.

Yeah, but he sent me the wrong ones and was gonna make me ship it back too...plus a restocking fee? NO WAY!! Totally illegal!!
and since they are the wrong impedance anyhow I suppose he REALLY sent the wrong injectors..

How do I know if they are the correct resistance? What would the ohms be for my stock injs?

Ah, really it doesn't matter, my stock injs are working right now.. I think I'll post them for sale on ebay and in the FS section, but anyone who may want them here just PM me and I'll give you first dibs..thanks for the lesson guys.

Low Impedence are about 2 ohms. High Impedence are about 13 ohms.

What did he advertise the injectors as?

didn't say either way, but this was the line...
These injectors are 720cc direct fit injectors for 86-88 Turbo . You will receive 2 of them. Direct drop in injectors, which are very hard to find.
(asked for the 550 after auction closed)

Now I know that no ONE set of injectors will fit all of these year models? Am I right?

Why are you trying to run the larger 550's on your non-turbo?

Like previously mentioned, your offset key = high impedence, although it's the rectangular (Bosch type) plug.
Only 1988 models run this funky plug.

Heard too many bad stories about those Venom crap...
I would never buy or use their crap.

What I don't understand is why you would bid on something and ask for him to change it after you have bid on an auction...

because the seller had given me inaccurate information about whether a near-stock N/A could utilize the 720s safely and efficiently (which he said would be no problem, but my gut said I should seek a second and third opinion) and when I double checked with ernst from RX7world and a few other rotor heads I realized I was getting injectors that were too large for my application. Plus, i know if you have been given inaccurate info from the seller and they mess you up it's still their fault and I could retract my bid at any time because of that, and it was a spur of the moment bid because I knew I could get them at a discount and BLAH BLAH BLAH. But alas, WHY I bid changes virtually nothing...

And SirCygnus, thanks but no thanks, trying to get rid of these as we speak..anyone with a good RB header though... =)
