Bought an fc with a surge tank installed
Placement might still be ok, it is just it should not share air with the driver. If it leaks or is punctured, you do not want the fire where you are.
For most race cars metal firewalls isolate the driver from the fuel system so they have their own chambers. The pictures look like the previous owner just bolted it to the sheet metal in the trunk area behind the rear seat/storage cubbys, where the driver and fuel is in the same chamber of the car. Most race bodies prohibit that, even autocross will disqualify the car from being used.
