Borla can on a rotary
hey just wondering if anyone has gone with Borla's XR-1 mufflers. they's stainless with stainless steel pack, and the price aint bad either. I've been impressed with Borla's on non-wankels, so I was wondering what people thought of them.

I bought a Borla cat back system for my '90 NA in 1998 before the XR-1 line existed. I'm sure my system offers a much smaller increase in performance than the newer XR-1 stuff. I've never dynoed my very mildly modified car, but there was a small but noticeable increase in power throughout the RPM range.
Sound quality is low and pleasant, not shrill or ricey in the least.
The build quality and durability have been excellent and it seems unaffected by the heat of the NA rotary after six years.
The bolt-on fit left something to be desired, with the right exhaust tip hanging maybe 1 cm lower than the left no matter how much I fiddled with it. I could probably have a muffler shop heat it and bend it into proper position, but it isn't bad enough for me to bother.

cool....that's what I love about the borla's, the nice, deep growl. Im just looking at the can for a custom exhaust, but my main concern was how it'd hold up. Thanks for the info man
