Boot panel help

So ive swapped my engine and now im missing the my boot panel. For those who dont know what im talking about its that big plasic washer looking part with three bolt holes that the shift lever rides on. At least its what my fsm says its called. So ya ive lost this part. Is it possible to drive my fc and shift gears without the boot panel?

Well, what is going to hold your shifter in place then? I wouldn't advise it and generally the parts of the shifter are pretty cheap...
