Boost question

I am currently seeing from 11-12.5# of boost in 3rd and 4th gears. I have a stock turbo and have not ported the wastegate. I have also kept the stock intake on to keep the boost somewhat controlled.

I am considering putting on an intake with the TID mod and was considering also putting on an intercooler out of a Volvo 740 Turbo. Do you guys think the pressure drop across that intercooler would compensate for the boost increase from the intake or would I finally need to port my wastegate? Any other thoughts?

I dont think the intercooler would lower your boost that much. I think porting the wastegate would be the best option.

Yes, porting the wastegate is the only way to go. Especially if you still have the stock airbox! That TID is only going to make things worse.

Alright, thanks guys. I was hoping to avoid that. I recently ported the smaller of the two exhaust runners and that wasn't much fun.
