Boost guage question

Hey all, I just bought an Auto Meter mechanical boost guage off some kid locally. He had it in his DSM.

The vacuum line he had running to the guage was this little clear hard plasti line, looks like a mechanical oil pressure line. Can I just remove that line and fitting from the guage and put a normal barb or something to fit a regular sixed vacuum line? It has norm,al brass fittings on the back so switching should be easy, can anybody verify this for me?

Just use the plastic line, it works fine and it easier to run. It slips snugly inside vac line when joining.

Yah the little plastic hose fits perfectly inside the smallest size vacuum lines on your car (dont remember the exact measurement) just slip it in and snug it up with a zip tie or small hose clamp if you have one.

well I found a nipple that goes on the guage very nicely, should I still use the plastic line instead?
