Boost controller?

Is the stock T2 wastegate controlled by some kind of solenoid valve or something, or is it just resistence to spring pressure vs manifold pressure?

the S4 is just a 5psi spring

the S5 is a 5psi spring with a 8psi solenoid controlled by the ecu.
