Exclamation Bomex Body Kit

https://www.rx7club.com/newthread.php
Confused Does anyone know why the maker of the kit says it won't fit S4 RX7 (s)?

86-88 models will work, but you need the 89-92 front turn signals.

Theres more to it than that. The S4 series is not the same in terms of paneling dimentions as the S5. There will be noticable gaps in the front bumper and rear bumper if you put the kit on an S4. So yes, it will fit, but not nice and true like in the picture.

Its too bad really, I think the bomex is probably one of the nicest kits out there for the seven, its clean and a good price. If you can work some magic, you can make it fit an S4 nicely with the right kind of work.

They say there will be a gap between the hood and the bumper cover, Are the Fenders/ bumpers / bumper cover, different? I thought they were all interchangeblehttps://www.rx7club.com/newreply.php?do=newreply&noquote=1&p=3881719#

Sorry about that, I should of given more info. And yes the Bomex kit is beatiful. I have seen some custom work with it to make it fit on a 86 GXL. It was quite sexy if you ask me.

I believe it is because of the sealing rubber strip between the fenders/bumper that tweak the layout just slightly. If you look closely at an S4, you'll see what I'm talking about.

SO its not the actual dimensions of the paneling, but just some kind of rubber seam strip?

Interesting if thats the case, makes you wonder if you can take the seam out of an s5 and plant it on the s4. Its -25 out here today so I don't want to check my s4 for the seam

There is no rubber seam on the S5 front end. It was eliminated for the s5 model, to clean it up a bit.

Thumbs up Here's my 88 Convertible with a full Bomex body

To fit the front bumper you have to customize it alittle but you CAN get it to fit like it is meant to fit. The back bumper fits perfectly with no modifications and so does the sideskirts. Just add the S5 flash to pass signals.I think this is the best kit for this car just because it is not exajerated like some other kits I've seen. Plus they are very light. I compared the weight of the original bumper covers to the Bomex and the Bomex is lighter.

That looks nice. Most folks don't like the BoMex stuff. I think it totally updates the look, especially the from facia Via my silver car above). I am selling it to get the long awaited RE-A Y2K, but the BoMex stuff is nice for the cash...

I think the store sells them for about 900-ish. Not a bad price either.

I will say that there not perfecto when you get them and they require alot of sanding to get the boogers out.. But I have seen waaaaay worse... I wanted the front facia perfect because obviously I spent aton on the paint job.

Try this link, it's $595 plus tax and shipping, if you have to pay it all.

Yea I paid 1,100 for mine about 2 years ago at a local shop Easternmotorsports.com. It took about a month for the shipping. Well worth the wait. I still haven't seen another kit that I would switch to against this one in this price range. People never believe that my cay is an 88. These molds really do update the car without giving it a radical ricer look.
