Honestly you can't just ask that question because it really depends on the exhaust and whether or not you are going to be running any type of cat or if it is straight-through. Additionally as lastphaseofthis said you will probably need an FCD in order to get the most out of the stock set up. The reason is that the decreased backpressure from the freed up exhaust causes the boost to creep up to "10-11 psi" (http://www.racingbeat.com/FRmazda2.htm). When this happens the ECU cuts off fuel to the rear rotor. Just some things to consider.

Forgot to mention that I have a microtech lt-8s set up comming, with a strait through 3'' turbo-back exhaust, weapon r intake attached to turbo, and HKS Bov if that matters. Will run ready mix due to removal of oil metering pump.

-Thanks, Dustin.

With bigger injectors onto your LT8 and the exhaust, i say yes you can be over that 59hp.

The racing beat exhaust is great IMHO. When I put it on my car, the improvement on just stock everything else (minus intake; and yes, I know I'm stupid for not upgrading fuel too, i realize this now). But in stock form minus the intake, it was such a drastic improvement that it was outrageous. With the standalone, proper fuel upgrades, and things like that, you should definitly, definitly get a great gain

I would think that in that case you could very easily gain 59 hp with a 3" exhaust. But you did say stock in your original post, what you mentioned i wouldn't exactly call stock. I am not really familiar with microtech so i dont want to say if you will still need an FCD or not, but it would be something you might want to look into

the hp increase is not so much from the extra air flow, but more from the increase in boost due to the extra air flow. You may run into the fuel cut problem (at 8-9psi), which i hear is bad (causes a lean condition -> detonation = bad). I would hold off until you get fuel upgrades & something to solve the fuel cut problem.

And if that all works, with the extra exaust flow, you may start to have boost creep with an unported wastegate. so dont expect it to be a trouble-free 59HP
