Bogging down after driving for a while

I'm currently experiencing some interesting issues with my second RX7 - I would appreciate it if anyone with a similar problem/experience could help shed some light on this. The car will start and drive just fine, but after driving for approximately ten miles it will bog down when the throttle is pushed in more than 10-20% (I'm guessing here) regardless of the engine speed. This unfortunately puts my top speed at ~60 mph (70 if i'm going down a slight hill) after the initial ten miles.

I am inclined to believe that it is a problem with the TPS except for the fact that quickly turning off the car and restarting causes the car to return to "normal" operation. Driving for another ten miles will cause the engine to start stuttering and bogging down again, like the fuel is being cut or something.

Any ideas?

What year? Sounds like an S5 in limp mode due to a bad oil metering pump....

It's a 91GXL. My idiot lights are currently not working (I suspect a bad ground, I'll look into it later today), so I can't check the engine codes - unless there is a way to check them with a multimeter somewhere?

If it's the oil metering pump, then it sounds like it could be potentially dangerous to run the car. Should I be running two-stroke premix as a precaution until I get this sorted out?

You shouldn't run the car in that case, but if you are or really need to, premix at the minimum. It probably is a bad OMP and without working idiot light cluster, you won't really know....
