I've stripped an FC down to the chassis only with front glass and hatch. I'm trying to figure out how much it weighs as I need to get it on a trailer. Anyone know? I'm hoping I can just get four guys and we just lift it in. As it stands now I have to be very careful not to lean against the chassis as it moves around like crazy on the jack stands.

 

You should be able to do it with 4 reasonably strong people. A bar shell is roughly 400lbs I would say considering when I broughht it to the junbkyard i got like $16.50 and metal was $3.50/100lbs

 

its pretty damn heavy, i don't know if 4 people could lift it. you might need dollies.

 

Thanks for the info guys. Chances are we will use dollies on one end while we lift the other end up onto the trailer. Worst case is we break out the come along.

 

when i was getting a shell taken out of my garage i had the tow truck driver pull the rear out while i pushed the front...i had my creeper under the radiator support with a couple tires on top of it.

 

Yeah, you can move a shell with 4 guys.
