body and paint question

just wondering if i need to take the side moldings off to prime and paint the car?
i know it sound stupid but first time doing it....................... anyone's help is greatly appreciated

you dont have to but in the long run you will be better off if you do remove the moldings cause eventually the paint will peal around them if you dont..so it depends on how nice of a job you want and how long you plan on keeping the car

is it worth the 15 bucks worth of trim adhesive to skip painting under the trim and possibly miss some rust, and leave a paint edge around the trim that can crack
