Angry Bob, we seem to have a issue, it has damage.

So, I pulled into my co-workers drive way last night, pull onto his FLAT concrete parking area, put the car in N, set my E-BRAKE.
10 mins or so goes buy, someone come to the door and knock on it, asking "Who's little red car is this sitting aginst this power poll?
I ******* RAN FULL SPEED OUT THE HOUSE!
and sitting about 100yrds away, is my nice, newly washed and detailed CLEAN.
on the poll, but to get to this poll, it went all the way through a barbed wire fence, taking TWO metal post with it, and about 50ft of wire.

pass. tail light busted, bumper cracked and offset to the left, the barbed wire went over the car, tore some small and ONE big *** hole in the vert top, and scratched the T-TOP...

The car was sitting on the poll, in N WITH THE DAMN E-BRAKE ON!

So i got in, punched it, by that time the cops had been called, parked it back into my co-workers driveway, talked to the cop's, the whole time, im stunned on the e-brake ****!.

all in all.

Need new rear bumper.

new Vert top.

Tail light ( or a set of s5's if they would fit)

a paint job, seeing is how the wire and post's took some paint off..

But, seeing is how the car is a 88, im not paying for full coverage.
so, i get to fix it out of my own pocket.

Anyone with some parts???

The p is there for park, say it with me now P-A-R-K, park. Not to be mean or anything but it seems like the ebrake not holding would have been something a person should have not missed on a routine check up of there car, and that N in an auto is only really there for when the car quits while driving so you can start it again without pulling over and coming to a complete stop(all Ive used it for)

You said you put it in N saying N automatically makes people think auto. Learn the internets people not that hard.

Well, if it was a automatic, it would have been in park with the ebrake set and off, but i own a STICK, so, after i took it out of 2nd it went into N=NEUTRAL.

Sorry, if i seem rude or assholeish, but i worked a 15 hour shift after dealing with my 7 bullshit last night...

Sorry to hear about your misfortune, but I guess we can say the e brake doesn't work!

Years ago I did some work on a Vette for a friend, and he asked me to check the e brake. After finishing the items that were originally planned, I looked at the e brake. It would feel as though it was on, as the lever was tight, but would not hold the car. The shoes are inside the hub, and I didn't have enough time to fix the problem, so I left the cable loose so no one would think the e brake was working and returned the car, and told him I could work on it the next weekend and just leave it in gear if it were driven. Without my knowledge he took it to a garage a few days later, they examined the cable, and just did an adjustment to make the cable tight, but never checked to see if it held. They charged him a small fee, and he was on his way. That night, he was at dinner with his wife when someone came in and asked who owned the white Corvette in the lot. He went out and it had rolled down the lot, hit 2 cars and ended up in a shallow canal after going through a picket fence.

Im not saying I wouldn't own a automatic, i have owned a few, i had a 944 that was a auto matic.. i just don't want another sports car with an automatic, and i wasn't bashing YOUR driving skills now was i? I was more or less making a reference, to the what should i say, um.. OLD ***** who drive nice cars, and baby them, when the car has more nuts than jesus ******* christ....

Now thank you, and dont get so damn pissy.. take a chill pill man...
if your e brake fucked up, and the back of your 7 got fucked up, you'd be slightly upset to right? right?.
