BNR Stage 4 turbo on rtek 2.1?

I'm wondering if a BNR stage 4 turbo would work well on an rtek 2.1 ecu? Sorry if this is a dumb question. I just can't find anything of someone running an rtek on that turbo, or anything that points towards why you shouldn't run an rtek on that turbo.

I ran a stage 3 with an Rtek 2.1,so I can't see a problem going stage 4.
I went to a 3 as I heard the 4 was a bit laggy.

Was it pretty easy to tune yourself? And what kind of power were you putting down with the 3?

That turbo is certainly manageable by the Rtek....however, it's really borderline of what the Rtek was designed for in the first place. Rtek was (at the time) essentially the only PnP solution and was a easy and affordable option. It is a very limited system. With the type of power you're undoubtably seeking, you will see so much more result with a real standalone engine management. I currently run a BNR stage 3 and ditching the Rtek was the best thing I ever did. More power, smoother idle, better drive ability, literally it was a night and day difference getting into an Adaptronic Select.

the rtek should work but it only has tuning capability up to 14 psi. rtek 2.1 would certainly be the cheapest ems solution if u tune it your self.

yeah the bnr stage 4 is near or at the limit of the rtek 2.1 , at high boost you will be maxing out the afm, and the boost sensor, which really makes tuning above 14 psi dangerous as you have no safety margins( cant tune it to dump fuel and yank timing above that boost level if you spike or have overboost occur)

im running the 2.1 and am definitly maxed out on it with my setup, and this turbo is capable of much more. im running 720/1200 injectors, if you go toooo large it can be difficult to tune the rtek

using a palm pilot is kind of a clunky annoying interface, vs using a laptop or something on a modern system. havnt tried using an android device with it yet.

Thanks guys. I'll probably go with microtech since that's what my tuner is best with.

That is one of the BEST plans.
If you can't tune the car then get what your Tuner is good at tuning.
Honestly half of the "extra features" that ECU's have would not be used on a "regular guy's car" so paying for a High end ECU and having it not used to it's full capability is just money foolishly spent.
Ya,nice to say "I got a $2k ECU" but if you are in stock engine mode then Why would you need all the features like 4 extra injector capabilty, etc, etc etc,..right?...(chuckle.....See what I mean?..!)

a little extra Info on the Rtek 2.1
The injector setup can't Drastically vary in size between the Primaries and Secondaries or it becomes a tuning issue and the transition from PR to S gets a little hard to smoothen out.
The Research I found was that if you try to stick within a 25-30 percent difference in Primary to Secondary the Tuning was easier.
So Example: 750/1000 was good..850/1200 good too.
550/1600 was tricky.

Yeah. Haha I'd rather have a good tune and a decent ecu instead of a bad tune and $2000 ecu. And what you said about injector transitioning makes sense. If I find a good deal on an rtek I'll buy it but if not I'll just save for a microtech.
