Blown headlights again
I just purchased a set of Sylvannia headlights for my '88 rex the other day, the worked great until last night they just wouldn't turn on. I just looked at them and sure enough both bulbs are blown inside. Is this a symtom of the bulbs getting too hot? I only use them at night... what could be done about this, I don't wanna blow 30 bucks on new headlights ever week.
And another little problem, do you guys have to wait a few seconds to start your rex? I'll put the key in, turn it so all the dash lights come on, the beeping sound comes on, the fuel gauge slowly rises, along with the volt gauge, and the seat belt light stays on for a few, during that time I can't start the car, it seems like I have to wait like 5 secs for the seat belt light to turn off, then i can turn the engine over to start, but even then sometimes the starter just "clicks" but does nothing more, so I try turning the key again and it starts the second time. Other times it starts on the first time. Is this a faulty starter?
Thanks all

The most common reason for blown headlights is alt failure or incorrect installation.
What is the voltage when the car is driving??? If you have a non-turbo it is right in front of you on the dash.. if you have a turbo, you will need to hook up a digital multi-meter to the battery and while the engine is running check.
At no point should the voltage ever exceed 15 volts. If it is, then there is clearly a problem with the alt, (probably a blown regulator or disconnected control input).
Anything over 15 volts will have a negative affect on all the electronics in the car and start burning things out.
