blown ecu cause egi comp fuse to blow every 3 days?

ok guys ive been having this very tempermental short for the past 3 week.s one day it will run fine for about 3 days..then itll blow the egi comp fuse when im driving.. if i let it cool down it usually runs again...but if i try to restart it after its warmed up it will blow. then i go and try to fix it..the last time i pulled off the connector to the trailing coil and it seemed to be fixed after that. but it just happened again yesterday nite. i was wondering if a short in the ecu could cause this. abecause i tried disconnecting the coil again last nite and it did not work. how hot is the trailing coil supposed to get when running? mine was pretty hot. is it possible that the trailing coil is just storing too much charge and when it gets to be too much it will start blowing it? is there any way to check if my coil is good? thanks guys. im getting pissed at my dam fc. o yea its a 88 turbo II
