ok, i just switched my turbo 1st gen over to using the FC coil packs. under full throttle around 5,000 rpms... under boost... it's pops VERY loud and shoots flames! now i know the leading works like a wasted spark, could it be igniting too far in to the exhaust stroke? i didn't mess with the timing when i did this swap over. everything ran good under boost before. i just switched my leading to direct fire and now this. anyone's TII done this?

 

Hey Zac are you sure you wired it up right? Did you do the transistor trick? Which ignitor are you firing off of? Wasted spark isn't going to cause you problems like that.

 

be careful not to blow your engine from detonation during tuning or whatever.
