Blower Motor not working, but relay clicks!

I've had a problem ever since buying this FC where in the blower motor doesn't work. The previous owner had the problem rigged by using a jumper wire in place of one of the relays as seen here.

The round relay goes "click" when I turn the blower motor on, and with that jumper in place the motor works perfectly normal. But, as you can see, It's been burning something up! So I have pretty much not used the blower motor at all.
I put in a new relay in position where the jumper wire was and the motor came on and worked for about 2 minutes and then stopped altogether.

Placing the jumper made it work again! So I think it fried that relay. I changed the blower motor and tried yet another relay and nothing but "click, click" from the round relay. I even changed that relay, and still nothing.

I do have an entire blower assembly in my parts car that I could pull, but what does it sound like the problem is and what will I need to get my AC working?! This humidity sucks, so I jumpered it just to see and found the AC blows cold!

So I need some help!

Forgot to mention, the wires jumpered arethe thick red w/yellow stripe and the thinner yellow wire. And the blower motor can oprate normally with adjustable speeds when jumpered. SO it must be somthing specific failing or failed that makes the jumper required in place of the Heater Relay, but EX-HI does work normally.

NOw I'm guessing this thing must be the problem, which is going to be a bitch to get to. It just happens to be connected to same wires as the Heater Relay

Is this what would make it so I have to jumper the wires were it no good>?

I have the same problem with the blower motor on my 87 Fc. I can't find the replacement relay as of now, but I don't want to bother with the relay if it isn't the problem. Any news?

Same for me, was the brushes in the motor. Swapped those and it worked like a charm.

Well, as good as the FC blower can work, which is barely anyways.

Anyone got a tip on what blower fits in the FC, but blows like other cars blowers, like 10 times more powerful or so?

If the fan works only on max setting then the "power transistor" is likely shot as it varies the voltage to the blower so it can vary the speed of the blower. For the blower to work on the max setting then the EX-HI relay should be in place. Blue/White and Red/Yellow wires are two of the wires found at the EX-HI relay.

The Power Transistor is responsible for the fan speeds other than the highest setting and the highest setting is controlled by the EH-HI relay so that yours is working w/o this relay "possibly" means there are wires jumpered in its place to make it work.
