Unhappy blocked sunroof drains...

my rx is leaking, onto my son's seat, which is making him unhappy...

I'd replaced sunroof and tray cos old one was all rusted to hell, but figure my drains are blocked, correction i KNOW at least one is blocked, but dont know where they go, do they exit car mid floor or go to rear with hatch drains? figure i'm better of trying to clear from bottom up but don't know where bottom is...

Any one help with this?

One way to clear drains is to find a rather large syringe (the plastic cylinder with plunger, not the needle) and cut the tip so that you have about a 1/4" opening. Take some silicone tubing and slide this over the end. The tubing should be about 1/4" OD, about 1/8" ID, so that it will fit down into the drain hole.

Fill up the syringe with clean water (tap water), push silicone 'nozzle' into drain hole, and force the plunger down rapidly, forcing the water through the drain and pushing out whatever has been clogging the drain.

BE AWARE - if you meet with hard resistance - STOP. If you can't force the water through the drain a least a little bit, you may have a rock or something in there that is preventing flow, and forcing the water down into the drain with pressure, could pop the drain line off of the fitting, requireing you to then disassemble the interior to refit the drain hose. HTH,

Note: also works on back hatch drains which tend to gather leaves and such.

Just take your garden hose and put it in the hole of the sunroof and squirt some water in there, probably just some leaves and it will clear right out. Its a good idea to squirt your water hose in there now and then to keep it clean.
