Best way to replace inner tie rod?

What's the best way to replace the inner tie rod - mine's bent.

The mazda FSM says you have to remove the whole rack to do it - is this true?

nope, i did it without taking off the outer tie rod end.i just put the car on jack stands, removed the wheel, and got under there. you can see the dust boot under the car( looks like an acordian, but round). take off the dust boot( kinda a bitch to get the outer part off),drill out the pin, loosen the large end, and then back the small nut off of the outter end(turn to the right). then you should be abile to just loosen the tie rod off.

good luck.
