best way to clean parts

ok....
i need to clean off my engine parts before i put them together and re-install my engine

upper and lower intake, and turbo stuff, as well as the actual keg...

whats the best way to go about it...
i got about 3 cans of carb cleaner already...

what kinda brush should i use...

any other types of solvants i should use for easy cleaning or anything?
