Soul Assasin has this badass HKS dogmission specifically made for the FC, but I don't believe that it was ever imported... plus, it costs a few hundred benjamins, as in over $5000 at least, prolly closer to 8k.

I guess it depends on how fast / how much power you want to make. I know several people in the low 11s with stock tranny, maybe even some in the 10s.

As far as using an FD auto tranny, I'm not sure. I may be wrong, but I believe that you would need the ECU from an auto FD to use their tranny. When you buy a programmed ECU for an FD, you have to specify if it is an auto or manual, which leads me to believe you nee the ecu for auto tranny.

Go ask Crispeed what tranny he is using, post this question in the single turbo section, he's always around in there... he runs 9.20 in the 1/4.

The turbo 2 tranny is the strongest Rx7 tranny there is. Unless you go clutchless like quaife or hks which is big duckets. The turbo 2 tranny is much better than the fd tranny. Power shifting to 3rd on an fd tranny is easier said than done too. I don't know for sure, but I bet if Crispeed used an rx7 tranny, its a T2

I've always heard that the TII tranny is good up to about 500-550 flywheel hp.

If you want the consistency of an automatic tranny, get a GM built tranny and an adapter to get it to fit.

Exit13B has a pretty nice clutchless transmission. You can see his car at http://exit13b.com/exit13b.com/ .
