Best exhaust st up ever for NA

I have put together what I think is the best NA exhaust set-up that anyone can do. I have RB headers and midpipe with pre-silencer, Magnaflow high-flow cat and a Blitz Nur Spec Muffler with plans to add a second. 2.5" Piping all the way. It is so nice at idle. It sounds like a turbo with the nice rumble of the RE Amemiya exhuast and makes your chest rattle. It is still a rotary and is ungodly lound at about 5000 RPMs. Lot better flow and gives about 10 to 15 hp boost.

First, what is your definition of "best" exhaust? Power? Quiet? Design?

Second, if you're talking power no you definitely did not make the best system, sorry...

Third, where is this 10 to 15 hp increase you came up with? Dyno'd before and after or your "educated" guess?

Or are they? Has anyone ever proven this?

You can look at it like this. True dual system is heavier but may give a bit more power. RB header to straight pipe to single catback may not make quite as much peak power but will be an awful lot lighter, so will the weight drop in effect make up for the 1-3 hp difference?

well RarestRX only gained 5hp n 5 ft/lbs torque with Pineapple sleeves, ported TB, ported upper, middle, lower intakes, Mazdatrix True Dual exhaust, and pod filter.
Id say they arent worth the price and weight.

Its an educated guess. From before with the stock exhuast on the car to now with my completely "SMOG" legal set up it was an insane boost in response and overall speed through the gears. I know that straight pipe is the best but i also know what it is like to be in a neighborhood where there is a stright piped RX and it is f***ing insane at 3am every sat. Also never really been that big of a fan of mazdatrix. I guess it is because a lot of my rotor friends have had bad experiences with their stuff. Don't know maybe i am being weird but i like my **** to work and i take pride in doing something myself and getting good results.

Your educated guess is most likely wrong, sorry. You cannot just say 10 to 15 hp increase with no basis on it besides the seat-of-the-pants feeling.

Smog legal eh? Mine is smog legal when it's time to pass, but other than that nope

i also don't think that i made the best power. I think that i made good power for the money, the perfect exhuast note and a great design. I think
I didn't go with a passanger side exit instead i did driver and i like the way it looks and sound and i like the little bit more response i am give. Besides it will transfer well to my 13-REW swap that i am starting.

best exhaust?

Actually I bet the best exhaust system made for the N/A FC is sold at Mazdatrix for 1200 dollars its True Dual exhast with a 28% hp gain http://www.mazdatrix.com/r-ex86nt.htm ) go there and check out the chart they give you, also you can choose from the RB mufflers or HKS, my buddy has spent the money and bought this kit with the RB mufflers, by far the craziest exhaust system i have ever heard on a N/A FC!

how come they dont say how much hp the car is making in the dyno?
28% increase would be 147hp with a 115rwhp baseline.

i don't like the way the RB or hks sound
two of my really good friends have both set ups and they are starting to not like it either after hearing mine. I think the RB on an NA sounds like a friggin lgo kart and the hks isn't much better. i have seen both those on mazdatrix.

From what I've seen exhaust on a N/A really doesn't make a big difference. I figure the best setup would be straight piped single muffler. RB header with 2.5" straight pipe all the way to a single high flow muffler. The idea is to make the pipe as straight as possible. A resonator wouldn't hurt. As far as true dual goes I think its un necessary.

They have a pic of the dyno graph on their catalog IIRC...a large one that is.

Yes, and the baseline dyno read 98hp, whereas the true duals had something like 128. I honestly can't say that makes me want to buy the setup.

That's where I'm headed. Then, I mount up a muffler & tip assy on the driver side w/ a pressure canister of good exhaust. I'll pass Texas inspection, hands down.

F**K the environment. Clean air is for hippies & liberal treehuggers.

The best exhaust upgrade (performance wise) for an N/A is one that has a turbo somewhere inline.

Before? 140, after, 300+. Any questions?
