I have a white 91 n/a. The paint job just sucks and I want some feedback on what color looks best to you. I'm thinking that FLAT BLACK would be real nice (and hard to find at night, lots of fun to mess with those morning watch slackers). Let me know what you think is the best color or leave a picture of your 7's sweet paint job.

 

Black doesn't bring out the lines really well. Sort of makes it look generic 80's sportscarish. I think red really makes the car stand out and looks nice. Plus black is a pain to keep clean.

 

Yeah red is good but nearly every one of our cars are read. Does anyone have a yellow one? Blue also looks really good.

 

Please don't ruin another RX7 by painting flat black. Just repaint it white.

 

White and Red are the best colors I think.

 

surprisingly, i think yellow (easily fades) is the best color....
not alot of cars can be yellow.... if u see like yellow celicas or yellow other stuff... it is not good....
yellow is a special sports car color i think... and i think FCs do look good with yellow...

yeah, a local guy painted his fc yellow, looks pretty good. I prefer my red OEM paint myself though, followed by white. not many cars look badass in white either.

I always liked the look of this black FC, I think they did a good job. Otherwise, I'm a basic kinda person, I'd stick with white and just get it painted by a good painter/company/whatever.

 

my paint is white mica pearl. the engine bay is painted to match. But I think that would be a subtle change from the white in your engine bay if you didn't want to have that painted. Few would probably notice. I have a S4 and painted the black trim with Duplicolor universal mica metal black.

Has more of a purple tint to it in real life though. Pictures just can't seem to capture it.

 

From a car retoration standpoint, you always want the numbers on the car to match what came with the car. I.e. keep your paint the correct factory color. In the future, a numbers matching '7 will be worth more, than a really modded out car. It is the way it always works with collecting cars.

But, if you have to change the color, I am kind of partial to Saphire Blue.

 

most of the threads here will recommend White, Red, Custom color. I own a black and white vert. the white looks better. also have a white coupe and a titanium gray rx-8 I own a yellow rx-3 - thats the cats *** of mazda's IMHO.

i have an 88 Convertible and have ben thinking of panting it a high gloss black then doing either a black with bright blue theam on the inside or a black and yellow bat man theam

But seriously, red or the aforementioned blue. I think FB's look better in yellow than FC's do.

 

i have artic white paint. im just waiting to get the car painted. i really want mine suburu blue. i think itll make ur 7 stick out more if its a blue. i dont see much dark blue 7's around.

 

i think black rx7's look like little demon children at night.

who cares how much your car is technically worth?

 

The reason so many people have red is because its the best color! If you are worried about not being original and all, think of how many other 7's you even see in a day. I'm lucky to see another single one in a month, so it will still be original just because its a 7.
