Does this sound right???

Ok so Ive been hearing the vibration for a few weeks now. After many attempts I couldnt figure out what it was, so I had to bring it to a local place that would look at it for free. The tech there said the wheel bearings sounded fine but it turns out the inside edge of FD wheel on the right side has a decent sized dent in it. Can the wheel be repaired, and does this seem like the culprit to my troubles?

Yes you can unbend wheels but at the going price of FD wheels I would just replace it.

 

Thats probably what I will end up doing.

Do my symptoms fit my problems tho?

 

Sounds right but if you want to be sure before buying another rim why not switch back to a good known set of rims with good tires and see if the problem goes away.

If the wheels is significantly bent, it can cause the tire to be out of round, and buldge in the area of the dent....

If the wheel is on the left side of the car, It could go away in right hand turns as the loads on the tire will nullify the vibration (but the problems still exists and the bent rim could lead to the tire loosing the bead)

Also... if your running spacers to fit the FD rims... any vibration will be magnified as you have moved the mounting point of the wheel out farther from the bearing....
