Belts keep falling off...
This is the second time in a week that my power steering and a/c belts have fallen off. Both times I had taken it to just beyond the redline.
Am I just not tighening them enough? I know that past a certain point belts like to fall off, but I'm not running it to the rev-limiter, just to redline. I've never had this problem before.
Thanks for any input.

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
I am assuming that the are the correct belts, tightened to the correct tension...
Check to see if either your Pwr steering or AC compressor is out of alignment with the main pully

I went to put the old belts back on, temporarily, and I broke the ******* bolt for the tensioner for the a/c compressor. Yeah, I'm pretty pissed off right now. It looks like the belt on the a/c was too long, and I broke the bolt by tightening it, but I had already tightened it as much as it would let me.
Shopping list for today...
New bolt for tensioner
New belts, again
Guess I'll be driving the Metro for the rest of the day. Yeeeehaw.

I'm gonna drive to a couple different nut & bolt places here in town to see if I can find a replacement.
If not I may take you up on your offer, thanks a lot. I really appreciate it.

Hey Seth, still care to donate that bolt? I went to all the "nut and bolt" specialty stores in town and not one of them had what I was looking for.
It's actually the power steering tensioner bolt that broke, but the A/C tensioner bolt will work just fine.
If you can't it's cool.
