Belt sanding housings. Side seal trouble.

Now I'm at the stage of taking sand paper to my front and rear rotor housings.

Everytime i've done this, I'm like there has got to be an easier way. So I was toying with the idea of going down to the depot, buying some 2000-3000 grit belts and sanding the housings down this way. I've never heard of anyone else doing this. So maybe I'm just being stupid.

Good idea or Bad Idea? Anyone else try this?

Also, on my rotor, I have two side seals that are so freaking stuck its rediculous. I'm trying to get them out as nice as possible as its really easy to pit side seal cavity. I've worked on that now for about 3 hours trying to get one side seal out. I feel like throwing the rotor through my ******* TV set. I know I could bang it out, but the force would almost certianly damage the rotor.

Anyone else have stubborn side seals and what did you do about it?

oh, no the water jacket sides.

Surprisingly the, inner parts are in spectacular shape. They're already clean.

Heat the rotor in an oven, with some phat gloves, remove it. apply ice cubes quickly to the side seal. Might work for you..

Say, no more than 300 *???
