Being given a FC

Okay this is how it goes my cousin in law has a 87 Fc, and he destroyed the engine and now doesnt have the money to do anything with it. So he's giving it to me completly for free, just no engine. Lol

So heres the thing, what engine can I get that is cost effective and have a snail shell in it? Thanks

The only thing that would be cost effective and have a *ahem*... snail shell would be the regular 13bt engine.

We'll need more information(budget, model,time,.etc...) to help gauge a better answer.

if your going to go with a 13bt then you need a t2 to put the engine in. that'll be very easy if you get the same engine. if it's a N/A then that'll be very easy also. your looking at around 750-1300 for a j-spec with tranny. or 1000-4000 for a rebuilt (they rebuilt your engine). forgot to meation that the years 87-88 are different type engines then the younger FC aka 89-91...well not different type but it's not a direct swap. and hence alot harder then getting the og engine. if you run a search you'll come up with all types of advice.

Lol i'm actuly just trying to put in a good engine and resale it for about 1500 then i put into it. THe thing is I don't want to put a POS in there. Lol so if anybody wants to work any deals with a engine and just buy the entire car let me know. The car has no damage at all, great interior just engine went boom

well i got a deal on the motor i got it from a friend who blew the head gasket for $100. it just needed a lot of cleaning up. the droping it in was a pain in the *** though. but only because i was building paycheck to pay check if you have the money up front it shouldnt take more than a couple of days or a weekend. as long as you buy the grannys speed shop cradle. if not its a big pain in the ***.

IF you're really trying to sell it after you fix it up, put a 13bt in it and keep it the way it should be, of course, that assumes it WAS a TII. If it wasn't a TII you might end up with more cost to build it than you can get out of it. It takes a bit of work to put a turbo engine in the N/A models. You're best best would be put the engine in the car that's SUPPOSED to be in it, turbo or not.
