88 convertible - when I accelerate in 2nd gear, theres a beeping noise that sounds a lot like the roadrunner cartroon bird. Sometimes one beep, sometimes 2 or 3. Sometimes none. Its coming either from under the hood or under dash. I'll check the after market alarm system first, but wondering if anyone else had this before.

 

Could be P/S computer, but I thought it gave out 5 beeps. That is my only guess....

All 7s do that at redline.

But it may be a bad conection to the P/S computer if the beeps are irregular or inconsistant. I'd check that out myself.

 

Coolant and oil level makes it beep too. Autocrossing sometimes triggers those alarms. Maybe your idiot lights are dead?

 

I've heard the coolant beep, (and redline, of course!)and they are much louder than this one. The beep is very short, like a second or less. I'll check on the P/S connections, as suggested above.
