Stock tire size for the vert is 205-60-15
Based on that information you can also use 215 55-15 or 225 50-15 all of these are very close to the same diameter. The 225 is 3/4 wider section than the 205 tires.

hope that helps you.

There aren't more then a couple tires made in 215/55/15. The 215/50/15 and 225/50/15 are slightly more popular but are 3-4% smaller then the stock 205/60/15 (when speedo reads 60mph actual vehicle speed is 57-58mph).

they would be stretched and the sidewalls would be huge. You're going from a recommended 205 width to a 185, so no, they wouldn't work.

The tire manufacturers give a range of acceptable wheel widths for their tires. Look it up on their website, that'll tell you if it's ok.

I'd say it's perfectly acceptable to do that. The sidewalls will be square to slightly stretched, but nothing dramatic.
