bbs rims question

i have a 91 convertible and the rims are beautiful, no damage anywhere. i want to put these on my 86 gxl sport but can't get the center cap to budge. do they need a special tool to get them off (i've never messed with bbs rim before) because i don't want to mess them up while TRYING to take them off. any info on how to take them off would be great. if i need a special tool, how would i go about getting one.

by the way, the tranny swap for my 90 gtu was a success. the car's been sitting for almost 1/2 a year dead, its good to have it alive again. another 7 on the road again. and i never took one class of auto class. oh, the things you will learn for your 7.

There is a special wrench made for BBS Rims, works well
Keep checking the parts section for them. I'll post a pic of one in the morning

The center cap tool came with the car from Mazda. It is plastic and looks sort of like an oil filter wrench.

I found mine in the trunk in the little bag with the jack.

just get a big *** pipe wrench and wrap it in a towel so you don't scratch the 'nut' and turn it counter clockwise. It only has to turn a small bit, it doesn't spin off like a normal nut. So don't torque the crap out of it.

Or you can go to the BMW dealer (and almost any other dealer where similar wheels were sold (I think Cadillac and VW also had version, but I am not sure). I purchase a replacement wrench when a shop lost mine at BMW for $14.95, the price from Mazda was $65.
